Commercial Manager - Indian Football

About the role:
The role of the Commercial Manager entails identifying, securing, and nurturing advantageous associations with sponsors and partners. This is done to uphold the goals and objectives of the Club.

What you’ll do:
• Identify potential sponsors through market research and industry networks.
• Develop customised sponsorship proposals tailored to potential sponsors' objectives and interests.
• Negotiate and finalise sponsorship agreements.
• Establish and nurture relationships with local, regional, and international partners.
• Collaborate with partners for joint initiatives, events, and campaigns.
• Work closely with marketing and events teams to ensure sponsorship activations are executed efficiently.
• Liaising with external agencies for branding, design, and PR.
• Regularly liaise with sponsors and partners to ensure their satisfaction and explore opportunities for deepening the relationship.
• Dealing with kit suppliers.
• Oversee the target setting/budgeting, invoicing, and financial tracking of sponsorship and partnership contributions.
• Ensure all partnerships deliver a favorable return on investment, both financially and in alignment with organizational goals.
• Provide regular updates and reports on sponsorship and partnership initiatives, outcomes, and financials to senior management.
• Continuously monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities to stay ahead in the sponsorship landscape.
• Explore other revenue opportunities such as Merchandising, Ticketing, etc.
 
Who we’re looking for:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Sports Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in sponsorship, partnerships, or a related field, preferably in the sports industry.
• Strong network within the sports sponsorship and corporate sector.
• Demonstrable track record of securing high-value sponsorships and managing complex partnerships.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, strong verbal and written communication abilities, proficient in using CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• A creative thinker with progressive ideas; able to think strategically, yet focus on execution; with proficiency in driving high-impact marketing campaigns across multiple channels (digital, social, print, advertisement, etc.)
• Tech and start-up savviness with the ability to strategise in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to function effectively in a diverse multi-disciplinary and international team environment.
• Strong critical thinking, organizational, and negotiation skills.
• Driven by a deep interest and passion in the domain of Sports and wellbeing through Sports.
